I don't know about you, but in our world, photo gifts never get old. We've given out projects like this and this for Christmas in the past and I came up with an idea for Father's Day that would take care of that holiday's present for years and years!

You could easily make this photo idea a one-time gift, but I also love how it can become a gift-giving tradition just by replacing a photo in it each year!

A couple of years ago, we took and framed this photo for G:

Just pick up a blank canvas from the craft store, cut out a heart from construction paper and tape it on!

Each year, we take the same photo with the same prop in the same spot and replace the previous year's photo in the frame. At some point in the future (Gv will never outgrow these photos, right?), I'll stick all of them into one big frame so that G can enjoy seeing his little girl grow throughout the years.

For Papa, we did things a little bit differently:

Same blank canvas with cut-out construction paper letters. Same adorable little girl!

For him, each year we'll replace one of the letters with an updated photo, so that he can enjoy four years' worth of his little granddaughter at a time.

I went with a frameless frame (Ha!) so that he could put it anywhere. Then I used a piece of scrapbook paper as a background mat and sized the photos to fit across the frame.

Do you enjoy giving photo gifts, too?  I'd love to hear!  Either leave a comment below or email me at lisahealy (at) outlook (dot) com.
